Brian Betz – 1972 Chevy Vega

The Supervega“Ok so a year ago, after 35 years of thinking about building this car, I meet this hulking guy with a rocky balboa slow Pennsylvania drawl. First visit after our phone conversation was in a garage where the SUPERVEGA had been stored while I contemplated if I really was going to tackle this job by myself. I was kidding myself, so Nick shows up and I show him the details of a dream car I had started in my early 20’s to come out of a bucket of bolts with out an engine. I remember me following or leading him about three laps around the car while we discussed what was to be accomplished. As I described to Nick what I wanted to do, I also said I have a budget In mind.

So I waited for him and he waited for me to speak, I threw the number out and that was the beginning of a great relationship. I often say that when you get involved this deep with something like a car or house with someone you better have a great working relationship and understanding of what you are getting into because it’s a lot like marriage without the sex. Give and take and expectations that need to be agreed. The SUPERVEGA was all that and more.

It did not stop at the end of one year and completion. I am still involved with a very good friend now and his family almost daily. I have come to trust Nick and all that he can do with my car-babies in all aspects. I know he is still learning about different jibs he under takes, but he has the perseverance and drive to attack any thing an automobile can dish out–even a messed up master cylinder.

If you have been dreaming about restoring your rat rod or pile of bolts and beat up wagon or motorcycle, no job is too small or unwanted by this man. He is a man of his word and honorable to finish any job he undertakes. If you question his work, he will explain it good or bad, and you will understand. You will get the truth and a great value for what you need and want. I would say no time better than now to make your mind up to fix-build or design your dream car because waking up and having it done is better than the dream itself. CARTER CUSTOMS on my scale 1-10. 10+”

Brian Snyder – 1971 Chevy Malibu /402ci

1966 Chevy Malibu - Snyder“So after years of dreaming of owning a 66 Chevelle like my dad had, I finally was able to buy my dream car a little over a year ago. I started working on it and quickly realized I had bit off more than I could chew. Over the first year I tried to get done the things that I could, but I eventually got to a point where I surpassed my experience level & I was having a hard time finding the time to work on her. But I really wanted her to see the road in her 50th year, so I knew it was time for help. After talking with some friends, one suggested calling my former classmate Nick Carter. I had hardly spoken to Nick in 20+ years, but once we got on the subject of cars it was like was like 1994 all over again. After that first phone call I knew I found the right guy to help me get The Mistress up & running.

A few days later he came to my house and looked her over, we set a budget and off we went. He kept me updated through the whole process. The thing that impressed me the most was his passion for doing what he was doing. He treated my car like it was his, so I felt 100% it was going to be right. He also completely understood that my project was about rehabilitation, not restoration…which was very important to me and was another reason I chose him. In the end he did so much more than we ever discussed, but yet he brought the project home under budget. I really couldn’t be happier.

I would highly recommend Nick & Carter’s Customs to anyone and the Mistress will definitely be back in Nick’s hands in the future.”

Shane K. – 1950 Chevy Truck

“I had Nick build me my second truck, the black patina 1950 5-window Chevy Truck. Nick was very open to all my ideas and custom work I wanted done. He welcomed me to his shop anytime throughout the build process. He was very easy to get a hold of if I had questions about the build, different parts, or just wanted to see how things were going. He would even text me build pictures throughout the process sharing the different stages of the build. Nick’s attention to detail and quality of work is top-notch! I would highly recommend Nick!”
